Alumni Council Group offering $3,600 matching gift for all gifts through the end of March to get fundraising started. (Raleigh, NC) - The Icepack are headed back to the American Collegiate Hockey Association National Championships for the second time in three years. The Icepack have spent all of 2021 ranked in the top ten. Along the way the Icepack have knocked off #2 Liberty and two time defending national champion Florida Gulf Coast University. The Pack also brought home their third consecutive Admirals Cup trophy as champions of the ACCHL. Without tickets sales for homes games this year, the Icepack needs support to bring home a National Championship to Raleigh. The Pack needs to raise $20,000 for the weeklong trip to Bismarck, ND. To start the fundraising efforts, the Icepack Alumni Council has offered a matching gift up to $3,600 for all gifts that come in by March 31st. Brent Plunkett '01 and Alumni Council member remarked; The Icepack program has grown so much over its 45 year history. Starting as a small regional club playing in front of 10 fans to a nationally ranked club playing in front of 1,000+ fans a night and making their second trip to the National tournament in 3 years is beyond impressive. Unfortunately Covid-19 restrictions did not allow fans to support the team at games throughout the year and they need help to make up the lost revenue required to pay for the trip to the National tournament. It is with great pride that the Alumni Council helps establish a matching gift program to help them with their continued success. Please join us with your support! Click here to donate to send the Pack to Bismarck. Donations will be done though the Icepack website and will cove airfare, hotels, ground transportation and team meals. The Icepack are members of the Atlantic Coast Collegiate Hockey League and play in the American Collegiate Hockey Association. The Icepack are an independent club hockey team at NC State and a registered 501 c3 non-Profit.
