(Winston-Salem, NC) - In a season like no other, somethings stayed the same and that's the Icepack raising the Admiral's Cup for the third year in a row. Led by game MVP Junior Riley Johnson's (Raleigh, NC), two goals and an assist the Pack skated past Virginia Tech 8-3. The Pack got on the Hokies early with a goal by Sophomore Chris Solomon (Clayton, NC) 1:27 into the first off a feed from Sophomore Matt Miller (Apex, NC). The Pack closed out the first up 3-1 on goals by Junior Parker Szarek (Raleigh, NC) and Johnson's first of the day. The Pack put the game away in the second period with four goals, including a short handed goal by Johnson followed by goals from Seniors Ian O'Rourke (Morrisville, NC) and Eric Todd (Holly Springs, NC). Sophomore Colby Pederson (Raleigh, NC) closed out the scoring in the second. Junior Miles Ferrone (Enola, PA) closed out the scoring in the third for the Pack. Goalies Eric Daniel (Raleigh, NC) and Griffin Hunt (Clayton, NC) combined to turn aside 24 shots to preserve the win for the Pack. Up Next: The Pack await their seeding and pool for the American Collegiate Hockey Association National Championships in Bismarck, NC, April 15-21.
