Pack Sweep UVA and Richmond Go into Bye Week Winners of 15 In Row

​The Icepack traveled up 95 to take on Virginia foes UVA and Richmond and came away with a weekend sweep.  The pair of wins put the Pack at 20 wins in back to back years for the first time in program history sends them into their bye week with winners of 15 straight.  

​The Pack fell behind early to UVA 2-1 early in the first before reeling off nine straight goals to knock off their post-season rival 9-2.  Leading the way for the Icepack was freshmen Chris Solomon who netted a hat-trick and Junior Eric Todd who had a three-point night.  Solomon finished with five points on the night.  Freshmen Griffin Hunt turned aside 16 shots for the win.

In the second game of the weekend the Icepack came out slowly before erupting for five third period goals to finish off Richmond 7-0.  Six different scorers found the back of the net including two by senior captain Ryan Kinney.  Reunited BCHL teammates Colby Pederson and Riley Johnson each walked away with a goal and an assist.  Pederson has now scored in every game he has dressed for this season.  Junior Ian Hutchinson notched the shutout with 13 saves.

The Pack take a break this weekend before their final regular season games, home vs. UNC-Wilmington on 2/7 and at UNC-Charlotte on 2/8.  A sweep would send the Pack into the ACCHL tournament as the number one see and back to back regular season titles.
