By Harrison Eaton, Media InternRaleigh, NC - The NC Icepack will travel to Bismarck, North Dakota this week to compete for the 2021 ACHA Division 2 National Title. This season the Icepack went 10-6-1 including big victories over other nationals qualifiers Florida Gulf Coast, Liberty, and East Texas Baptist while also being crowned ACCHL champions for the 2021 season. While the accomplishments are vast, the ultimate challenge now begins. The Icepack has been given the #8 seed overall and the #2 seed in Pool A. The Icepack are joined by the #1 seed University of Mary (Bismarck, North Dakota), #9 seed University of Providence (Great Falls, Montana), and the #16 seed Davenport University (Grand Rapids, Michigan) in Pool A.
The boys will kick things off this weekend by playing the #9 seed University of Providence on Thursday, April 15th at 1 PM CENTRAL 2 PM EASTERN. The Argonauts come into the tournament with a 6-8 record which includes 7 games against the top-seeded University of Mary which resulted in a 1-6 record. Providence without a doubt is not lacking experience against top competition and are poised to be a potential threat to the Icepack. On Friday, April 16th at 1 PM CENTRAL 2 PM EASTERN the Icepack will lace up the skates to face the #16 seed, Davenport University. The boys will look to come out with a win in this matchup as they head into the final game of pool play against what will be one of the toughest opponents the Icepack have faced in 2021.
