Nine new players join the Icepack giving the Icepack their deepest roster yet. With their top eleven forwards returning combined with five newcomers the Icepack can expect scoring form each line. On the defensive end and in between the pipes, the Icepack welcome three new defensemen and a freshmen goalie. Coach Healy on the new Icepack players Defense and Goalie Healy on Alex James ’25 (Lakeview, MN)/Charlotte Rush): James is a puck moving defensemen who will fit right in jumping into the rush. He has a championship pedigree having won an USPHL National title last year, which will further strengthen our team culture. Healy on Charles Monteith ’25 (Raleigh, NC/Williston Northampton): Charles is a really quick player that can play defense or offense. He protects the puck and sees the ice well. He will give us an option we have not had before; someone that can impact the game at two positions. Healy on Logan Todd ’25 (Raleigh, NC/Raptors): Todd is as smart of a player as we have seen come out of tryouts. He’s making the adjustment to defense fulltime. He isn’t eligible until second semester which gives him a lot of time to develop into an impact defenseman for us. Healy on Isaac Tawyer ’25 (Danvers, MA/Danvers High School): Isaac is the future of our program in goal. On most teams he would be the number one goalie but for now he is a capable backup who will push our two juniors for time in between the pipes. He is technically sound and moves well. If either guy went down, he would be able to step right in.. Forwards
Healy on Phillip Bailey ’25 (Holly Springs, NC/Rogue Warriors): Phil played for a national title last year and was a leader on his team. He is an explosive forward that can finish. He uses his sizes well and will be an impact player when he is eligible second semester. Healy on Zack Robinson ’25 (Apex, NC/Rogue Warriors): Zack is a smart player who finds seems on the ice with his skating and passing. He was one of his team's leaders on Rogue’s march to the national title game last year, like James and Bailey he further cements our winning culture.. Zack is the younger brother of Alex. Healy on Emery Oliver ’25 (Raleigh NC/Princeton Day School): Emery has really been impressive over the first few weeks of the season. He is a finisher and plays hard in all three zones. He will be an impact player for us. He also makes me feel old having played for a former player of mine at PDS. Healy on Nick Costantino ‘24 (Tampa, FL/USPHPL Junior Canes): Nick gives size, grit and determination that will give us a lot of depth in the third and fourth lines. He is not afraid to go into the dirty spaces on the ice. Healy on Avery Shaffer ’23 (Raleigh, NC/UNC-Charlotte): Avery was a late surprise coming into tryout camp. He won an ACCHL title at Charlotte, so he knows what it takes to bring the Admiral’s Cup home. He is a power forward who can score and play the body.
