Chris Solomon, Riley Johnson and Victor Hugo join Eric Todd as captains for the 2021-2022 season.First team All-American Chris Solomon ’23 (Clayton, NC) will join Super-Senior and returning Captain Eric Todd ’22 (Holly Springs, NC) as the Captains for the 2021-2022 season. With Solomon taking on the C and the graduation of Cam Mazikowski, Senior Riley Johnson ’22 (Raleigh, NC) and Junior Victor Hugo ’23 (Arlington, VA) will assume the alternate captain roles. According to Head Coach Tim Healy, each brings something unique to the table. Healy on Todd: Eric brings a singular focus and that is winning by doing the little things well. He is the ultimate lead by example guy. He is also taking advantage of the extra year of eligibility from Covid, which means he brings a wealth of leadership experience into the locker room.
Healy on Solomon: When your leading scorer and the program’s only first team All-American in its history only cares about team success and nothing about personal stats and accolades, you have a true leader. Chris is key to keeping the team on track and focused. Healy on Johnson: Riley really emerged as leader in the locker room last year. He took his leadership and compete to a whole other level last season. There might not be anyone harder to play against in the entire ACHA. Healy on Hugo: Victor has been a leader on the defensive end of the bench from the moment he arrived here, which says a lot because of how experienced the group he played with was. He had some great leadership mentors along the way in Cam Mazikowski, Ian O’Rourke and Devin Halko; he really embodies the best leadership traits of each of them.
