The Icepack Is Moving to ESPN+: Starting with Alabama, all Pack Home Games Moving to ESPN+10/5/2024 The NC State Icepack, in partnership with PackTV/WolfBytes Video Services, is excited to announce that all home games starting on October 5 versus the University of Alabama, will be aired live on ESPN +. ESPN, the worldwide leader in sports, will bring NC State hockey directly into the home of the 25,000,000 ESPN + subscribers, giving NC State hockey nearly unprecedented reach in the American Collegiate Hockey Association. It is a sign of continued growth of the program. According to Captain Zach Herman, “it means as an organization we are doing the right things to progress and advance ourselves. It also means we are helping to grow the passion and love for our sport in the State of North Carolina. Most importantly it means we are doing well representing the university that we love and work so hard for, as well as the logo we wear on our chests, each and every game.”
The driving force behind the move to ESPN+ is the quality of broadcast that PackTV/WolfBytes produces for NC State Hockey. According to Coach Tim Healy, their nearly unparalleled broadcast is what enabled this move to become a reality, “PackTV over the last decade has strived to make each broadcast better than the last. Our broadcasts have been recognized as being one of the top broadcasts in all of the ACHA and have set the standard for the Atlantic Coast Hockey Conference. This is as much of a victory for their broadcast team as for our players.” PackTV will still continue to produce the broadcasts, which will be repackaged for the live broadcasts on ESPN+ and then posted on PackTV’s YouTube page. Icepack fans will continue to hear their favorite broadcasters Chris Lehman and Nick Pirozzi. BJ Attarian, manager of PackTV and WolfBytes, says it is about a progression to let the team shine. "From the start, PackTV and WolfBytes have been about giving our club teams the varsity-level treatment to the best of our ability. We are very excited to see the Icepack continue to grow and to be a part of this next step."
