Pack Readies for Rider and Alabama: Free Admission with Hurricane Relief Donations for WNC10/4/2024 The NC State Icepack prepares for another back-to-back series of games, this time at home against Rider University at 8:15 p.m. on Friday and Alabama’s M1 team at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Icepack came out of a hard-fought game against the South Carolina Gamecocks last Friday with their undefeated record intact, moving to 5-0 on the season. The Rider University Broncs, who are currently 3-1 on the season, play the Icepack in the second of their three game road trip to North Carolina, playing UNC Chapel Hill and UNC Wilmington as well. The Broncs are also coming off of a dominant season , winning the ACCHL regular season last year. The Icepack will also face off against Alabama’s M1 team on Saturday, a preview of what is to come next season. Starting in the 2025-26 season, Alabama and NC State will both be playing in the same division, the Men’s ACCHL D1 Division 1 Southeast Conference. Alabama comes in with a 2-5 record on the season, and will be playing UNC Chapel Hill Friday before playing the Icepack on Saturday.
The Icepack, as well as UNC Chapel Hill, will be collecting hurricane relief supplies prior to their games in support of those affected by Hurricane Helene. The App State Hockey Club will be present before the games to collect the donations, and free admission will be given to anyone who donates to the cause. All donations given at these games will go to directly benefit those in Western NC as well as the App State community. Admission will also be free to all students who present a student ID at the door.
