NEWARK, Del. – NC State fell 5-1 to Delaware on Sunday in the second game of a weekend series, splitting the trip 1-1 against the Blue Hens.
BOX SCORE | PLAYER STATS Delaware opened the scoring, but Daniel Prazma responded quickly on the power play off an assist from alternate captain Nick Librizzi. The teams went into the first intermission tied at 1. The Icepack couldn’t find its footing in the second period, as Delaware scored three unanswered goals to take a 4-1 lead. Goaltender Pieter Bartelse took over in the third period after fellow goaltender Ethan Roberts faced 34 shots in the first two. In a penalty-heavy game for both sides, NC State’s penalty kill kept Delaware’s power play off the board. The Blue Hens added one more goal in the third to seal a 5-1 win. The Icepack has its first weekend off since the start of the season next weekend before traveling to Morgantown, W.Va., the following weekend.
