The Icepack scored three separate power play goals, showing off a special teams clinic in a 4-2 victory over Michigan State University last Friday, going 3 for 4 on the power play and 4 for 4 on the penalty kill. The Icepack were able to grab the lead early in the game with the first power play goal on the night from Brooks Willoughby-Ray, and holding the 1-0 lead into the second period. Two power play goals from Zach Herman and Reece Johnson, along with exceptional work by the Icepack penalty kill gave NC State a 3-0 lead going into the third period. Even with another goal from Herman in even strength, Michigan State was able to strike twice to bring themselves within two goals early in the second period. However, more exceptional penalty killing from the Icepack, as well as an impressive performance from NC State goaltender Addison Lawrence in his 28 save game, gave the Icepack the win in the end.
