RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State returns to action after a weekend off to face Alabama in a two-game series in Birmingham. The matchup marks the start of a four-game stretch against the Tide.
Freshman forward Ben Paterson said the team used its break to regroup and prepare for the upcoming series. “I think we just have to play strong,” Paterson said. “We’ve got to work on our forecheck and playing all three zones correctly.” This weekend’s series will be played on Thursday and Friday in Alabama. The teams will meet again next weekend in North Carolina for a two-game set – first at Invisalign Arena in Raleigh, then at Truist Field in Charlotte. Paterson said the Icepack prepared by studying film, but expects to learn more about Alabama’s play style as the series progresses. “We’ve watched film, so we know about them,” he said. “We’ll get to know them a bit more over these next two weeks.” Both games at Pelham Civic Complex will stream live on Black Dog Hockey. Thursday’s puck drop is set for 7 p.m. CST, and Friday’s game follows at 3 p.m. CST.
