The NC State Icepack ended their road trip to Charlotte and Fayetteville on a high note with an 6-5 overtime victory over West Point on Sunday after a tough 6-2 loss to South Carolina on Saturday at Truist Field. The Icepack started out strong in their first return to Charlotte since 2019, keeping the game tied 2-2 until the start of the third period, The Gamecocks would go on to score 4 unanswered goals to win the game 6-2.
The Icepack were able to quickly bounce back from the loss to USC, jumping right back on the ice to face off against West Point at Fort Liberty. The game remained tightly contested throughout all three periods, even with Icepacks Daniel Prazma, Zach Herman, and Reese Johnson all recording a multiple point game. However, after a called back Army goal halfway through overtime and a diving goal from Herman, the Icepack would walk away with the victory. The Icepack’s Daniel Prazma would also hit the 20 goal mark on the season with his two goal performance.
