Icepack Head Coach Search Information
The Ice Hockey Club at NC State, aka The NC State Icepack is in search of a dynamic leader to be their next Head Coach. The next leader of the Icepack must be more than a coach. They must have a skill set to not only manage a team but also several key constituencies: players, prospects, alumni, media (internal and external), corporate partners, officials, league officials, and coaches, and the ability to manage revenue sources.
Founded in 1976, the Icepack is an independent 501(c) (3) affiliated with the NC State University Department of Recreation. The Icepack has become the premier public university program in the Southeast for ACHA Division 1 and is a charter member of the Atlantic Coast Collegiate Hockey League.
Interested applicants should submit a resume, a coaches resume or history, five references and a cover letter to [email protected]. Prospective candidates should submit their materials as soon as possible as materials will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning 5/8/26. Top candidates will have at least two rounds of interviews; an initial phone screen followed by an in-depth interview with key constituent groups. The successful candidate will not only have a vision for the Icepack's future but a proven track record as a coach and integrating program within a community. While there is a stipend, this is a job of passion with limitless potential for which the stipend could never match the energy and professionalism required of this role.
